She loves her garden but she needs tell someone about it. She fears that people thinks she’s crazy so she tells her secret to the one she can really trust on: her boyfriend. Nathan has to see it with his own eyes and Alyssa takes him to her garden.
Nathan is amazed with it. They spend hours in there talking, playing, laughing… Winter comes and Nathan gets fired. Alyssa offers him her house. Nathan spends weeks trying to find a job but nothing comes.
One day he has this great idea… They could get money out of the magic garden. Nathan is sure that people will be willing to pay for it. Alyssa is reluctant at first but then accepts. The first visitors start to come.
Two days after the opening Alyssa begins to notice that some of the rare animals are gone and some plants are really damaged. She tries to close the magic garden but Nathan thinks they are earning way too much to shut down his big idea.
One week later the grass is almost green and there are no animals nor plants. Alyssa is really sad. One night while walking in the garden she disappears. The garden eats her. Right after that the garden gets completely normal. Normal green grass, normal trees, normal insects… Nathan loses his bussiness and his girlfriend.

What the press would say?
Richard Kelly has come up with this incredible feature. It’s all about fantasy, weird creatures and the colour blue. Very visual and somewhat captivating this story will grow inside of you. We have the story of a young couple trying to survive by taking advantage of a very special garden. Mother Nature takes revenge and wins.
Carey Mulligan’s Alysson will take you through her garden and that’s when you will fall in love with her. That weird relationship she has with that little world is priceless and Mulligan has really captured the feeling of this movie.
Aaron Johnson’s Nathan represents the “normal” world. It also represents the natural instinct we have to ruin wonderful things we happen to have around us. His portrait of Nathan is brilliant and you will have a really hard time hating him.
The last scene when Alysson is eaten by her garden and transported to a brand new one far away is pure gold and one of the most memorable scenes in movie history.
